Turn the Pilates boom into a studio people choose again and again
Trusted by wellness industry leaders across 26+ countries:

Infrared systems for hot mat Pilates, heated reformer and the next generation of premium movement studios.
Pilates is no longer one format in one type of room. Studios are adding heat to mat work, reformer, sculpt and strength-led classes to create a more distinctive experience and a stronger timetable.
KIASA helps owners convert that opportunity into a studio that works. We design the infrared system around the reformer layout, member positions, target conditions and operating plan—not around a generic wattage calculation.

Turn the Pilates boom into a revenue opportunity
Pilates was the most-booked workout on ClassPass for a third consecutive year in 2025, with reservations rising 66% year on year. Operators are responding with stronger concepts, premium reformer rooms and heated classes that sit between traditional Pilates and high-energy fitness.
Hot Pilates normally brings Pilates-inspired movement into a heated studio, often through mat-based strength, control and conditioning. Heated reformer studios take the same ambition into an equipment-led room where coverage, ceiling positions and member comfort require more precision.
The commercial opportunity is clear: more formats, greater use of the room and a recognisable infrared wellness story. Compared with a standard hot class, a distinctive infrared class can support premium pricing where local demand exists.
For a highly utilised studio, additional class revenue can potentially recover the infrared-system investment from as little as four weeks. Actual return depends on the system cost, pricing, capacity, occupancy, timetable and operating costs.
A trend may bring people through the door. The experience is what brings them back.
Moving towards 38°C changes the room
Common concerns include slow warm-up, cool spaces between reformers, concentrated heat directly above members, control systems that are awkward for instructors and ventilation that removes warmth faster than the system can replace it. KIASA reviews the room as a complete operating environment. We plan where members will be, how the room changes between class formats and what the contractor needs before ceilings and electrical work are finalised. In the UK, that planning must also account for changing seasons—from cold winter starts to warmer, more humid summer conditions. Controls, warm-up schedules and coverage must help the studio remain consistent throughout the year.
- A reformer studio designed for ordinary comfort heating cannot automatically become a 38°C class by adding a few heaters. The target condition, equipment layout, occupancy, ventilation, ceiling and electrical capacity all affect the result.
Designed around reformers, mats and movement
Heated reformer
Reformers create fixed rows and working zones. Heater positions must coordinate with equipment, lighting, speakers, ventilation and instructor sight lines while distributing infrared warmth across occupied areas.
Hot mat Pilates
Mat rooms may need stronger overall performance and quicker transitions between sessions. We assess full-room occupancy, expected temperature, warm-up strategy and the timetable.
Sculpt and strength
Higher-energy classes can change the desired conditions and ventilation approach. Zoning and scheduling allow the room to support different experiences without treating every class identically.

Experience that protects the opening plan
Studio owners are often coordinating landlords, designers, equipment deliveries, electricians and a public launch at the same time. Late changes to heater positions or electrical capacity cost money and create pressure.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Questions studio owners ask us.
What is the difference between hot Pilates and heated reformer?
Hot Pilates is commonly mat-based and combines Pilates principles with conditioning in a heated room. Heated reformer uses reformer equipment, making member positions and ceiling coverage more fixed.
Can an existing reformer studio be converted to 38°C?
Potentially, but the room must be assessed. We review heat loss, ventilation, ceiling, electrical capacity, equipment layout and operating timetable before recommending a system.
Will members directly beneath a heater feel too hot?
That is exactly why placement matters. We distribute output across occupied areas and choose between broader panels, higher-output bars or a combined layout.
Can different classes use different settings?
Yes. A considered zone, schedule and controller strategy can support different operating conditions, subject to the room and system design.
When should KIASA join the project?
As early as possible — ideally before the reflected ceiling plan and electrical design are fixed. We can also help with existing-room upgrades.
